According to this list Ottawa may be the best place in Canada to live. And this article explains how they came to this conclusion. I don't think there is much explanation needed.....
Victoria at number 2 is also a pretty decent choice along with my other two favourite Canadian cities Halifax and Vancouver and 9 and 10.

Freestyling House Model
I just whipped up a model of my house in SketchUp. I did it to try and visualize my front patio and then it just went from there. I also was to lazy to actually measure anything so it is probably off a bit.
I also wanted to model of my potential shed so I can sketch on it. Sheds are pretty tough to design because they often turn out pretty dorky looking. Its all about the scale. You can't really change the door size or the ceiling height which makes it hard. I plan to do faux board and batten finish so I can do things like make smaller battens and put them closer together. But we shall see. The patio is the first step. We are thinking of some type of rectangular pavers with some decent texture. If anybody has any advice...... I'll take it.

My Vespa
I finally got it and I have finally removed myself from it long enough to blog about it. Yes it is awesome and yes it is more fun than I thought it would be.
Here are some high-def shots of it in front of my office. We are currently getting amazing weather for it too so I have put over 100 kms on it in zipping around town. Its got really good pick-up to 80 kms but over that it takes a bit to get to 100. I am still getting used to the signals because you have to remember to turn them off.
I hope I get a lot of use out of it this summer.
I am taking my motorcycle course at the end of June with a friend of mine. Should be fun. But until then I am limited to the M1 restrictions which kind of sucks. I could go into all the details but it would probably bore you. All you need to know is that the Vespa is the scooter for the ages. Beautiful design coupled with brilliant engineering and years of refinement. It is known around the world (maybe not so much in North America) as the best scooter money can buy.
Every once in a while I get someone asking me why I didn't buy a regular motorcycle. Well, really I never really had a huge interest in motorcycles. They never seemed practical enough. Then I ran into the Vespa.
Anyway, the merits of the Vespa merits a blog in itself. I gotta go riding.

The Last page on the Internet......
Somebody sent me a link to the last page on the internet. I guess that means I have seen it all. I may as well never go on the internet again.
Oh well. I bought a Vespa now so I probably will only be on the internet when it's raining. I pick it up tomorrow so here is a little Vespa preview.
And now for a little Vespa craziness. This guy is pretty amazing.
Don't worry, I won't be trying that anytime soon.

Tintin on the Big Screen!
It appears that they may be taking the Tintin comic books and creating a movie franchise out of it. When I was a kid Tintin was my hero. I read all the books (over and over again) and played war with my friends while pretending to be in a Tintinesque environment. I think a lot of my drawing skills (whatever skills I may have) were even derived from looking at all those books. I was even Tintin for halloween once though barely anybody knew who he was. They are ancient books originally done in french in the early part of the 20th century but are so timeless in a humorous and gripping kind of way.
Needless to say, I am very excited about this.
