Kitchen Faucets: Decision Time

So if you read Irene's blog you probably know that we are redoing our kitchen.

The latest decision we have to make is on the kitchen faucet and it has come down to these two choices.

The American Standard Arch:

It's cheaper and has a nice detail on the arch. Irene prefers this one (for those reasons). The side sprayer is made of plastic but it is a fairly decent fixture.

I prefer the Grohe Eurostyle:

I really like the minimalist style and the amazing engineering. There is no plastic on the outside of this fixture. It is a little more expensive though and that is the only thing holding me back.

What do you think?

Definitely the Grohe. Will the $ difference matter a year from now?

Go with the Grohe! So sweet!
We have a similiar style and there is a bit of a learning curve (hehe): remember that water will still continue to flow after you shut off the faucet, due to the shape!

top one. Way nicer looking (more uniform & modern) and you save money. Anytime you can get something better looking and cheaper, that's not too mechanical, it's worth it all day long!

Martin likes the bottom one better but I'd go with the top one. To me it looks like a more simple design and it is cheaper! It is just a faucet...don't spend too much time thinking about it! :)

i still am leaning towards the Grohe especially after talking to my plumber buddy who highly recommends Grohe but has nothing good to say about American Standard. I have also heard that the customer support for Grohe is quite a bit better than American Standard.
Honestly, the Grohe just feels better. It is like comparing a cavalier and a civic. Or maybe a grand prix and a civic.
And with my connections (read: parents) I can get it for only 70$ more.
I also think we could take it with us when we move and leave a cheap moen for the next people. i am sure most people wouldn't know the difference.

actually i should revise that. Moen can be better than Am Stan in many cases (according to my plumber buddy). At least they stick to one thing (faucets) while American Standard tries to make everything.
