My Favorite Apartment Ever!

If I could find a place like this it would be amazing.
Too bad no one in North America can grasp the concept of being small, efficient, sustainable, clean, simple, modern etc. All of those concepts are hard to find in North American residences.

One of the best parts is that there is no yard to take care of. Also, the view is amazing and the lack of an elevator makes for some seriously good exercise.

The New iPad

So Conan recently unearthed a little promo video for the iPad. Yeah I think Apple is getting a little cocky too Conan....

Prank on a Call Centre

I wonder if someone can duplicate this with the Bell call centre here in Kanata. This is an insanely elaborate prank on a Belgian call center which is apparently notorious for it's poor customer service. Stick around for the ending - it is priceless.

Google vs China

Here is the story of the day (other than the Haiti earthquake). Apparently Google is threatening to pull out of China. WOW. What would that mean?

Think about this for a second. A company that is acting like a government. That is really what this has come to. This really shows how much clout Google actually has. They are claiming that the final straw was a hack of their servers that was designed to spy on human rights movements in China. If it's true than more power to 'em I guess.

Either way it will be very interesting to see how this transpires......

More Good News for the Skeptics

Thanks to my connections I am hearing about this. You know you can't rely on the regular media for these kinds of stories.

Apparently some hacker got into the servers of the Hadley Climate Research Centre and copied 62mb of emails and research data of some of the most prominent Global Warming alarmists in the world. It was posted on a Russian server and by now has spread all over the web. I'm not going to get into posting the stuff because I'm not sure how our police-state would respond and I also probably would not be able to understand most of it.

Here is a review of much of the data though.

Basically much of the data and emails have been confirmed by people in the know that they are real. If this ends up getting broadcast in the general media it could be huge. Already it has been posted by BBC and the Guardian albeit with no mention of the contents. It remains to be seen if the mainstream media (especially in North America) picks up on this and how. We all know they are intrinsically tied to the Global Warming propaganda that they have been pumping out for years now because catastrophe sells. But then again so does scandal.

The Hockey Stick is Dead!!!!

In my opinion it took far too long for this to be acknowledged as junk science but finally the main graph that the global warming alarmists have been using to prove their point has been abolished.

Thanks to Fred (you can't rely on mainstream media for this type of news) I found out fairly quickly.

Basically the graph that supposedly correlated CO2 with the "warming temperatures" was taken off of Wikipedia after being posted by some random closet no-name environmentalist from Switzerland.

Just to refresh your memory, this is the graph that Al Gore basically used to prove his point in his money grab movie "An Inconvenient Truth".

Do you think the tide is finally turning in this Global Warming Farce? And before you jump on me for being all anti-environment etc. I just want to state that I am against the wasteful western society that we live in but trying to prove man-made climate change is the wrong way to go about fixing that. It is wrong on so many levels.

Please don't shop at these places people. Going for the cheapest choice can be an ethical issue (in my opinion anyway). The world today is driven by money and if you always buy the cheapest thing then you are just getting sucked into that vortex of greed.

Pop Down Project

The pop down project is an initiative that just tries to showcase the amount of 'space pollution' we have to endure. In their words "On the Internet, getting rid of unsollicited pop-ups is pretty easy. In real life, things are a tad more complicated.
The Pop_Down Project aims at symbolically restoring everyone's right to non-exposure: Just stick a "Close window" button on any public space pollution."
Back in Hamilton I had a few friends who would go around ripping down illegal advertising. You know the stuff on telephone poles and on the sides of highways on trees. They had some hilarious stories about getting caught. I thought it was brilliant.
The Pop Down Project aims a little higher and is attacking legal advertising but at the same time they aren't ripping anything down. It just makes people think (if they even notice it).

Economic Crisis Visualized

I am one of those poor schlubs who can't really understand what exactly going on with the economy because of the big words they use in the Financial Post.  

Luckily for me some guy put together some helpful graphic videos to explain what happened in more simplistic terms and with lots of moving diagrams.  It is perfect for my graphic oriented, instant gratification generation.
